Regular Hair Cut
Includes hair cutting or hair trimming intended to create or maintain a specific shape, form or hairstyle. Our stylist performs a wide variety of styles (too many to mention here).Its extent may range from merely trimming the uneven ends of the hair to a uniform length to completely shaving the head.
Shaves
Includes removal of hair, by using a razor or any other kind of bladed implement to the level of the skin or other bearded style. Shaves are usually done at a basic level. Straight razor shaves cut a bit closer and are a bit more relaxing.
Shampoo
Our shampoos involve using the best shampoo, we massage the product into the hair, scalp and then rinse it out. After cleaning hair it is conditioned and repaired using the best hair conditioners.
Hair Coloring
Want a new look? Do you want to cover gray hair, to change to a color to a trendy style. Our goal is to achieve a more fashionable or desirable, or to restore the original hair color after it has been discolored by hairdressing processes or sun bleaching.
Hair Texturizing or Relaxing
We offer relaxer treatments to help bring out curly styles. A relaxer is a type of lotion or cream generally used by people with tight curls or very curly hair which makes hair easier to straighten by chemically “relaxing” the natural curls. The active agent is usually a strong alkali, although some formulations are based on ammonium thioglycolate instead.
Color Enhancements
To achieve the most detailed hair styles semi-permanent hair color is used to outline or sharpen the overall cut. Semi-permanent color has smaller molecules than temporary dyes. These dyes only partially penetrate the hair shaft. For this reason, the color will survive repeated washing, typically last a week.
Designer Haircuts
We also do very artistic hair styles. Designer hair cuts are similar to regular haircuts but are finished off or started with an artistic part/s in one location or all over to fit the clients request. The effect is usually done with a theme in mind but executed with edgers, razors and sharpened with color.
Rest Facial
The Galaxy also offers rest facial: Facial massage using classic strokes like effleurage to both relax you and stimulate the skin and facial muscles. There are two types of effleurage — superficial and deep. Superficial effleurage uses a light touch and is very soothing. This is the kind of pressure you get at the beginning and end of the massage. Deep effleurage, or deep gliding, uses more pressure, stretching and broadening the muscle tissue and fascia.
Scalp Manipulations
Our goal is to achieve a relaxing feeling. We offer Scalp manipulation, sometimes referred to as “petrissage,” is a massage technique that involves circular motions of pinching, rolling, kneading and rubbing to increase blood circulation at the surface of the scalp/skin.

A Little Bit ABOUT US
The Galaxy is a barbershop and hair salon. The Idea behind the space and stars stemmed from a thought “What’s above, so below”.
Galaxy by definition is a system of millions or billions of stars, held together by gravitational attraction. So, the galaxy symbolizes the overall community and we, the people in it represent the stars.
Star by definition is a fixed luminous point of energy in the night sky. Some stars shine bright they begin to dim over time. Our hair artists job is simply to bring that glow or shine out as much as possible.
Our goal is for our clients to experience the feeling rejuvenation and that joy and energy is what makes communities thrive. As a hair salon and barbershop we know we can and want to positively affect our communities. Providing a safe, professional and family environment is our standard and transforming our clients overall perspective is the goal.

The Galaxy Hair Salon team is looking for a passionate full time barber/stylist to service clientele in a barber/beauty salon in Carson (establishment for 10 years plus). They would be responsible for servicing their clients in our private urban style barbershop/beauty salon.
